Our Lady of Czestochowa - St. Louis

Our Lady of Czestochowa was built at the request of the expanding Polish Catholic population in 1906. It was organized with the assistance of the Franciscan Fathers. A church building at 4th and Victor was bought from the Lutherans in 1918. A school, built in 1917, was staffed by Polish Franciscan Sisters. Later the school was staffed by the Polish Sisters of St. Joseph. In 1957 the church was closed and torn down by the City of St. Louis.
