1991 Holy Guardian Angels, St. Louis was located at what is now 14th and La Salle. The cornerstone was laid in 1866. A school was established in 1897, staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph and later (1970) by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Due to declining population it was closed in 1991 and merged with St Vincent de Paul.
