Archbishop-elect Robert J. Carlson was installed by Justin Cardinal Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia and former Archbishop of St. Louis, as the 10th Bishop and 9th Archbishop of St. Louis. At the time of the Installation, he assumed the responsibilities of the Archbishop of St. Louis.

The Installation Mass was held on Wednesday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m., at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. For those not able to attend, the Mass will be streamed live on archstl.org, starting at around 2:00 p.m.
Evening Prayer was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica. At this prayer service, civic leaders, leaders from other religions, and representatives of the various groups that make up the Archdiocese of St. Louis were presented to Archbishop-elect Carlson.
