St. Louis—Superintendent George Henry has announced to the St. Pius X Catholic High School community that Reverend Edward Nemeth has been named Vice President – Faith Formation of the Archdiocesan secondary school located in Festus, MO. Fr. Nemeth previously served St. Pius as Dean of Student Affairs and Faith Formation.
In a letter to school families, Mr. Henry and Dr. Robert Oliveri, Associate Superintendent for Secondary School Administration, noted that Fr. Nemeth has provided service and leadership to the staff members and students in all areas related to our faith, and this new position serves to develop and strengthen his role in the entire school community, particularly in supporting Mrs. Karen DeCosty, the school’s president.
Early in his priesthood, Fr. Nemeth served St. Pius High School as a teacher, coach and activities sponsor. His role grew into helping with student activities/affairs, assisting in development efforts, and planning for capital
improvement for the future of the school. Fr. Nemeth has also served in three surrounding parishes—St. Joseph in Imperial, Assumption in Herculaneum, and Sacred Heart in Crystal City.
Mr. George Henry said, “We are excited that Fr. Nemeth has decided to assume this role of leadership, and we have every confidence in him. He has support from the school’s leadership, faculty, and parents. We look forward to supporting Fr. Nemeth in this new assignment. He has credibility and commitment regarding his passion for Catholic education at the high school level.”
