Under the direction of Archbishop Raymond Burke, The Catholic Youth Apostolate formed in 2005. The merger of the Catholic Youth Council and the Office of Youth Ministry came as a result of the Strategic Pastoral Planning of 1999-2002. It was part of a larger plan that will help the Church in Saint Louis realize it goals of conversion, evangelization, Catholic education, serving those in need, and exercising responsible stewardship. While our history as an Apostolate is still relatively new, our departments have a strong and rich history of serving the youth across Saint Louis. Our combined history dates back to 1941, with the formation of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Youth.
