Get Your Pro-Life Scarf and Unite With Us at the March For Life!

All Are Welcome To Participate

This year, close to 2500 youth, chaperones, youth leaders, and young adults from the Archdiocese of St. Louis will attend the Generation Life pilgrimage in Washington DC. While there, they will speak for the voiceless by participating in the annual March For Life. Everyone present at the march will notice these "Gen Lifers" because of their iconic Pro-Life Scarves, which will be provided to all participants by the Office of Youth Ministry.

Great news! You don't have to be a "Gen Lifer" to unite with them at the march. Because so many people from the greater Archdiocese attend this pilgrimage, outside of Generation Life, anyone from the Archdiocese is welcome to participate by purchasing their very own Pro-Life scarf.

How To Get Your Scarf

For only $12, you can have your very own soccer style Archdiocesesan Pro-Life scarf! To order, download the attached PDF and submit it before November 30th. An image of the scarf is provided above. The procedes from your purchase will go towards offsetting the cost of the Generation Life pilgrimage.

Please submit your order form and payment to the following address:

CYC Volunteers to be Honored at 59th Annual CYC Sports Awards Banquet

The 59th Annual CYC Sports Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, November 5th at the Crowne Plaza in Clayton.  This banquet honors the many volunteers that have donated their time and talents to the Catholic Youth Council program over the years.  Bill Bommarito, President of Coaching Coaches, LLC will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for this year's event.

Along with the Gold and Silver Boot awards for contributions to soccer in the St. Louis area, the CYC also honors each of the five "District Persons of the Year" and presents a "Sports Service" award for significant contributions to each of the following CYC sports: baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and golf.

The CYC Sports Banquet first began in the 1950's as a pre-match dinner for the International Soccer matches, generally between a team from Europe and a team of CYC All-Stars.  These games and the "Kick-off Dinners" were held usually the night before the game to introduce the players.  From the dinners spawned the Soccer Banquet, which was the forerunner to the CYC Sports Banquets.

You are invited to attend this year's banquet and show your support for our volunteers and the CYC program in general.  For details on how to order tickets or place an ad in the program, and for more information about the volunteers to be honored, visit the Sports Banquet page of the CYC website or call the CYC offices at (314) 792-7256.

St. Louis Young Adults to Host Men's & Women's Retreat: Exploring Spirituality in Everyday Life

The first St. Louis Young Adults Men's and Women's Retreat will be held on Saturday, October 17th! This will be a day-long retreat, planned and led by young adults with the goal of helping other young adults deepen their faith in their everyday lives.

The men's retreat will take place at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, and the women's retreat will take place at the Cardinal Rigali Center from 10 am to 5 pm. There will then be a vigil Mass with both groups to conclude the retreat. Lunch and an optional breakfast will be included.

This retreat will include talks, fellowship, reconciliation and Mass; this is a great way to build community and also take time to encounter the Lord. For more details and to register, visit Office of Young Adult Ministry's page, or email
