Archbishop Carlson will host an Ecumenical Prayer Service at All Saints Parish Church in University City on January 25 at 7:00 pm. You are invited!
Mission
The Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs carries out the mandate of Vatican II to reach out to other Christians in prayer, dialogue and service and to the Jewish community and other peoples of faith in order to promote greater understanding and cooperation. The Ecumenical Officer, as designated by the Archbishop, represents the Archdiocese at a variety of events and programs. The office also serves as a resource to other agencies, parishes, schools, groups and individuals within the Archdiocese.
Services
With the help of volunteers, the office conducts, sponsors and supports a wide variety of dialogue opportunities, workshops, and educational presentations throughout the area. Resource materials are available by request. Programs and services in which the office is involved include:
- Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue
- Dialogue with the Ecumenical Leadership Council of St. Louis
- Women’s Interfaith Day (with Church Women United)
- Interfaith Partnership (numerous programs)
- Catholic Clergy-Jewish Rabbi Dialogue
- Annual Week Of Prayer for Christian Unity planning and events
- Missouri Christian Leadership Forum
- Representation and Participation in the Global Movement of Prayer
- Formation of Ecumenical & Interreligious Guidelines for Archdiocese
- Representation at Ecumenical & Interreligious Events
