Mission of the Catholic Education Office
The Catholic Education Office is called to be a faith community committed to the educational mission of the church in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. We offer leadership and service in the ministry of total Catholic education. In collaboration with others engaged in this mission, we articulate a shared vision of Catholic education and teach the message of Jesus Christ as we follow his call to “Go make disciples of all nations.”
Scope of the Mission
The Catholic Education Office has the responsibility for ministering to the total religious education needs of all members of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. It receives this responsibility from the Archbishop who delegates this important work to the Superintendent. In turn, the Superintendent shares this ministry with the staff of the Catholic Education Office. Staff members are responsible for assisting parishes and schools in meeting the catechetical and educational needs of all parishioners and students, from preschool through adult education.
Staff members provide vision, leadership, and service for total Catholic education, contribute to the ongoing spiritual and professional formation of educators, foster excellence in educational leaders, and assist in the development of effective educational programs that advance the educational mission of the Church.
