Father Dempsey's Charities focuses its services on transitional housing, social services, and its weekday soup line and community outreach.
Father Dempsey's Charities primary service is transitional housing. By offering affordable room and board, men seeking a stable environment during a time of personal change receive helpful support in their transition to independent living. Employees staff the front desk 24 hours daily to fulfill both security and hospitality needs. Residents have a key to their own room. The home's chapel is open to residents at all times.
Social workers help residents find apartments, address credit issues, and create a balanced personal budget. Staff members also identify community resources for residents, such as job openings, counseling, and legal advice. Father Dempsey's social services prepare and support residents in living responsibly and independently.
Soup Line & Community Outreach
Father Dempsey's Charities serves noontime meals to an average of 25 non-residents each weekday. Lunch includes a sandwich, beverage, and snack and, occasionally, soup. Soup line visitors are also invited to speak with the home's social worker and staff to identify additional resources and services.
