Help for Troubled Marriages

ROMANCE, DISILLUSIONMENT, & JOY

Relationships have a natural flow. The cycle of  even
the deepest relationships that lead us to marriage flow from romance, into
disillusionment, to joy and round again through the years as the couple
journeys through married life. After the honeymoon, the two people, who felt
such passionate love for one another, chose to marry, and promised eternal
union find themselves at serious odds in desperate disillusionment. Not a just
a few married couples are surprised, and probably unprepared, for the natural
changes in marital relationships.

Disillusionment does not mean all hope is lost for eternal
love. By understanding the cycle of our relationships --ROMANCE,
DISILLUSIONMENT, & JOY
-- difficult times don't have to lead to irreconcilable
differences.

Disillusionment brings pain and often resentment. Sometimes
professional counseling and separation are necessary. If you are looking for
more resources to save your marriage, please take a look at our resources both
on this page and in our
"Separated, Widowed, or Divorced" pages.

Retrouvaille: Help for Troubled Marriages

 (French for "Rediscovery")
A lifeline to troubled marriages. A peer ministry by married couples to hurting
couples, using a weekend experience and series of follow-up sessions.

Retrouvaille begins with a weekend experience in which husbands and wives are helped to re-establish communication and gain new insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple. On the weekend, you will not be asked to share your problems with anyone else, but you will learn listening skills, forgiveness, communicaion and the dialogue process which are powerful aids for building a loving relationship.

A follow-up series of presentations, which provide a time and place to work on your relationship, is an important phase of the Retrouvaille healing process. For more information, to sign up, or get dates for up-coming weekends, contact  Linda and Chuck at 314-453-0110. You can also look online at www.retrouvaille.org or call 1-800.470-2230.
