Mission Office

A Message From Our Director

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Welcome to the website of the Mission Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis! I hope that you will enjoy your visit to our website. We are happy that you are here, and invite you to learn more about the missions online.

We, the staff of the Mission Office, are here to serve you and to assist you in your desire to learn about the missionary work of the Church, and to support it through your prayers and sacrifices. Your support is important and needed by our own St. Louis priest missionaries in our Latin America Apostolate and by missionaries worldwide, whom we support through the Pontifical Mission Societies.

I hope you will take the time to learn more about missionary work and how we are called to support missionaries through our prayers and offerings. May Our Lord Jesus, who tells us in John 20:21, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you," strengthen and assist you as you respond to the call to be a missionary for Our Lord, and to support other missionaries who leave their homeland so that "repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations" (Luke 24:47).

Gratefully in Our Lord,
Rev. Robert J. Menner
Director, Mission Office
Archdiocese of St. Louis

About the Mission Office

The Mission Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis is the official agency entrusted with the promotion of world missionary education, awareness, and support. We are the official agency of the four Pontifical Mission Societies:

We also serve the Archdiocese of St. Louis in our own Archdiocesan missionary initiatives in Bolivia through the Latin America Apostolate. We aid children in Bolivia, Kenya, Colombia, and Uganda through Pan y Amor.

Not only do we raise financial support, but we also strive to promote missionary education for the faithful of all ages, as well as prayers for the missions, as illustrated in our mission statement:

To awaken and maintain within the local Catholic community a sense of service to

those areas of the world where the Church is not present, or if present, is not firmly rooted.

Sr. Anila ChristyGreetings and prayerful wishes to you for a prayerful and peaceful Lenten Season!

Thank you so much Monsignor for all that you are for me specially and for our mission among the poor and vulnerable who we care. With your loving prayers and valuable support we now have 111 women in the shelter. More than 40 are moved to different homes (our convents) as they can work on their own now. They are also in the direct care of Emmaus mainly for medicine and emotional support. Thank you so much for your continued support and encouragement.

Sr. Anila ChristyGod provides in every way possible as per the need of mission. Your kind heartedness and generosity in accepting our request for the past nine years are extraordinary and it is highly appreciated and remembered with much gratitude. Thank you so much. You play a very good role in this mission apostolate. God willing, I wish you could visit us sometime in person.

Sr. Anila ChristyMonsignor I am/we are very grateful for the valuable contribution made by the parishes through our last year mission appeal. It was a great support to expand the Home, and the work is in progress. I shall send pictures of the work in progress. Thank you so much. We are so grateful to the parishioners for their extraordinary support and prayers. May God bless them.

Your words of encouragement and love in action helps us to move forward with much HOPE and GRATITUDE. Thank you so much. Special regards and prayers for all your staff at the office.

Hope your pastoral ministry is bringing joy and hope to many hundreds. Your parishners are also in my special prayers. Keep well Monsignor. Thanks.
