 Each year, the Propagation of the Faith encourages the faithful around the world to participate in a Membership Program to promote the missionary work of the Church. The Membership Program began in 1926, when the Catholic Bishops of the United States declared that a campaign should take place in all dioceses. The call to prayer and sacrifice to support missionaries and their work was seen as very important. Today, the Church continues this program to increase members in the Propagation of the Faith and to promote the missionary work of the Church.

By your baptism, you are a missionary – called to share your faith and to pass on the “Good News” of Jesus among the mission poor, touching families, refugees, orphans, the sick, the elderly, and those who live without the hope that comes from Christ our Lord.
The help that you and others offer through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith allows you to take part in Jesus’ mission. Relying on this help are priests, sisters, brothers, and lay catechists in the missions who proclaim the “Good News” of the Gospel each day. Your daily prayers, sacrifices, and offerings reach the most remote missions in places such as Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Latin America.
Individual/Family MembershipIndividual and Family Memberships are available. Your gift and the promise of prayer through Individual and Family Memberships are a great blessing to missionaries and to Christ Himself, and provide support to missionaries for the human and spiritual development of mankind. You will receive a complimentary subscription to MISSION Magazine, established in 1951 by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (then National Director of the Propagation of the Faith). MISSION Magazine is published quarterly and is designed to foster a missionary spirit among Catholics by informing them of the life and needs of the Catholic Church in the missions. Discussion Guides are also available for classroom, religious education, and small group use. Each activity/reflection corresponds to a specific article in the magazine and that issue's theme.

Perpetual MembershipYou may request that a loved one, living or deceased, be enrolled perpetually in the Propagation of the Faith. Those that are enrolled perpetually are remembered in the 15,000 Masses that are offered annually by our missionaries and share in the glorious work that they are doing for the salvation of souls. A certificate and photo in a leather folder is sent in honor of your loved one.
