Dear Pan y Amor Sponsor,
 During my visit to Bolivia within the past 2 weeks it was my privilege to visit various homes and orphanages on behalf of Pan y Amor. One of these homes is called Hogar Albergue Nuestra Casa- in English: Residence – Our House. This is a home for 16 girls between the ages of 7 and 18. This residence is located in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
On the day of my visit, January 21, 2010, the Director, Yusla Roa, along with the Board of Directors, hosted a special lunch to thank me as a representative of all of our donors from Pan y Amor for the support we have given. I was happy to tell the Board of Directors that our donors have collectively given from October to December of 2009 a total of $4,250.00 to support these girls at Hogar Albergue Nuestra Casa.
Besides having prepared a delicious lunch, some of the girls performed two dances. The youngest resident, Maria Elena, recited a poem about friendship. Later, Eugenia, one of the older girls, presented me with a beautiful stole (a liturgical vestment used by Priests). Some of the girls posed for a photo with me wearing the new stole. Among the words of thanks that Eugenia wrote are these that I have translated from the Spanish: “Thank you for visiting us once again and for not forgetting us at Hogar Albergue Nuestra Casa. We are very grateful for your support and for your love. We always will receive you with open arms and with much appreciation and thanks.”
The gifts and words of appreciation from the girls, and the Board of Directors were very moving to me. I accept their thanks on behalf of you the sponsors. During their meeting with me that followed the lunch, the Board of Directors informed me that donations from Pan y Amor represent 60% of their income. Our donations help to provide food, clothing, cost of utilities and a portion of salaries for the two women who serve at this home for girls.
May God continue to bless each of you, the donors to Pan y Amor, and particularly to those who donate to this particular home. These young ladies are deeply grateful for your support.
