The Daily Worldmissionnaires (DW) is the largest mission support group in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. It is a group of men and women who pledge to help the missions and the cause of Christ by following Christ’s example of sacrifice, responding to the Church’s urge to fast and abstain on one’s own, and actively participating in the spreading of the Good News to all people. DW’s continue to help with the ongoing support of missionary work throughout the world by praying and sacrificing daily for the missions. These prayers and sacrifices not only directly help sustain missionaries around the world, but also enable them to provide food, clothing, medicine, and other necessities for the needy. The DW was formed in 1953. In 1955, just two years later, membership was at 269. Now, there are over 2,100 active members who support this wonderful work of missionaries around the world! Our DW’s are truly outstanding members of the Propagation of the Faith, because they supply such a large portion of our total mission assistance to mission countries. They are living examples of Christ’s teachings and are an extraordinary support to missions around the world.
