Position Description: 

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for a Program Manager. This full-time, benefits eligible position is part of the Respect Life Apostolate and is located at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO. The Archdiocese is a non-profit organization which encompasses 185 parishes, 146 schools, over 90 offices/agencies and a Catholic population of more than 500,000. We were voted a 2015 and 2016 TOP WORKPLACE in the St. Louis area. The mission of the Respect Life Apostolate (RLA) is to promote respect for and legal protection of every human life. The RLA accomplishes its mission through spiritual support, public policy advocacy, education, and pastoral care programs and services.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education:
• Parish Coordinators – Maintain a network of trained, volunteer parish coordinators from the 10 deaneries.
o Provide orientation for new coordinators
o Assist and advise parish coordinators
o Prepare for and attend 6 annual parish coordinator meetings
• Respect Life Convention – Assist with organizing an annual Convention for 700 to 800 attendees.
o Format education portion of program book
o Provide education packets for participants
o Provide workshop support materials
o Facilitate nominations and selection of Award recipients
o Co -Coordinate luncheon seating/reservations
o Coordinate mailings for ad/patron campaign and promotional materials
• Oversee publication of quarterly bulletin insert, the Pro-Life Profile
o Facilitate selection of topics
o Write, edit, and proof contents
o Communicate with vendors regarding production
o Organize distribution (electronic/print) of Profiles not inserted at printing plant
• Assist with Right START program
o Facilitate parent meetings
o Teach PSR or day school classes when needed
o Collaborate with curriculum reviews
• Creative Writing Contest
o Send information packets to schools, PSR programs, and home school programs
o Present abortion/chastity class when requested
o Maintain list of readers and distribute entries to them for review
o Arrange Awards Assembly – Archbishop or representative, speaker, certificates and photos for students, etc.
o Follow up with coverage by St. Louis Review and E-Vangelizer
o Facilitate acknowledgements and scholarship monies to high schools

Spiritual Support:
• Participate in monthly Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Mass
• Assist with annual Adoption Mass
• Assist with annual Commemorative Mass
• Spiritual Adoption Program
o Annual information packets to parish coordinators, elementary/high schools, parish schools of religion, home school associations, senior residences
o Develop and order materials for program

Pastoral Care:
• Coordinate and distribute Lifeline Coalition materials
• Assist those who call on the Project Rachel line
• Help to facilitate training for Project Rachel-Joseph counselors
• Assist with Blessed Teresa of Calcutta applications

Public Policy Advocacy:
• Email/paper mail Missouri Catholic Conference (MCC) Action Alerts and other legislative communications
• Assist MCC with bus registrations for Annual Assembly

General Duties:
• Maintain supply of goods for sale i.e. precious feet pins, holy cards, bookmarks, pencils, etc.
• Coordinate with the part-time Office Assistant the ordering of office supplies.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social work, business, marketing, theology, politics, social studies, non-profit studies or related field required; related master’s degree is a bonus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Spanish language skills are a bonus but not required
• Must be a team player with a strong work ethic
• Must be a practicing Catholic who is knowledgeable regarding the Church’s teaching on Life issues.
