Position Description: 

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services has a job opening for a part-time Activity Coordinator for an Assisted Living Facility. This position is located at St. Elizabeth Hall in the Central West End, 325 N. Newstead Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans, implements and coordinates the resident-centered activity program to include day, evening and weekend activities.
2. Informs residents in advance of what activities are available, where they will be held and at what times they will be held using both a monthly and weekly calendar.
3. Provides and promotes customer service for residents, employees and visitors.
4. Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
5. Schedules the Activity Center and resident shopping and outings.
6. Manages the procurement, care and maintenance of all activity supplies and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
7. Assists in mealtimes, including escorting residents to the dining room.
8. Schedules vans and/or drives vans in resident field trips.
9. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of CRSS Residential Care/Assisted Living.
10. Maintains Pet Therapy program as applicable to facility.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have one-year previous experience in activity coordination.
2. Must have experience working with older adults.

SKILLS & ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN JOB:
1. Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.
2. Computer experience.
3. Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in work load, assignments, hours and days (i.e. weekends, evening, holidays.)
4. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgement and creativity are also required.
5. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
6. Must possess sight/hearing sense, or use of prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
7. Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
8. Must be able to perform the essential physical/mental functions/requirements of the position .
