Position Description: 

Queen of Peace Center has an opportunity for a full-time Intake Counselor. Queen of Peace Center is a family-centered behavioral healthcare provider for women with addiction, their children and families. The gender focused female recovery center provides a variety of treatment options to women with co-occurring disorders and those affected by trauma.

Position Summary:
Determines Queen of Peace Center, CSTAR program participant eligibility. Assist with the coordination of admission into the various programs while fulfilling the mandates of each regulatory and funding source. Provides face-to-face intake, goal oriented individual and group counseling and participates fully as a member of our Women’s Program inter-disciplinary treatment teams.

Specific Duties:
• Responsible for professional, trauma informed and efficient delivery of CSTAR diagnosis and intake services according to approved policies and procedures.
• Admit clients to appropriate program and educate clients about programs and treatment choices.
• Administers a variety of screenings covering addiction, mental health, trauma and daily functioning.
• Provides individual counseling, assessments, evaluations, referrals and assists clients with establishing goals and other functional aspects related to the recovery process.
• Maintains clients' charts, records and files regarding goals, evaluation and updates in accordance with DMH and COA standards.
• Assists in communicating with outside agencies, such as detox/treatment centers, AA, Catholic Charities' agencies.
• Attends staff meetings and keeps abreast of program and clients' status, facilitates group meetings, supervision, case consultation and program components as needed.
• Pursues continuing professional development, joins appropriate professional groups, and attends pertinent meetings.
• Supervises general guidelines and hygiene of self, staff, clients and of physical area utilized by Agency.
• Bills 30 service hours per week minimum. (Part time employees will have proportionate amount of billable hours.)

Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology with a license in the State of Missouri, and two years' experience in treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Must have documented experience with diagnosing.
