Position Description: 

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for an HR Assistant. This position will begin as a temporary assignment with the possibility of becoming full-time employment. Paid holidays and time off as well as eligibility for insurance benefits are available with this role. This position will provide HRIS administrative support to parishes and serve as a direct contact for proper documentation and resources. The Archdiocese is a non-profit organization which encompasses 185 parishes, 146 schools, over 90 offices/agencies and a Catholic population of more than 500,000. Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain employee records in Lawson HRIS for personnel and insurance benefit actions.
• Collaborate with parish representatives and payroll on a regular basis.
• Trouble-shoot discrepancies and correspond with parishes on necessary documentation for hires, changes and terminations.
• Field questions and inquires related to policy interpretation and recommended best practices.
• Provide clerical support to the department during peak times of the year, including open enrollment.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related business field of study.
• Proficient experience working with an HRIS database (Lawson or comparable) and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of HR laws and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to work effectively and provide excellent customer service to all levels of employees and external contacts.
• Experience working in a multi-site environment is preferred. Ability to travel within the Archdiocese of St. Louis limits as needed.
