Position Description: 

CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ST. LOUIS, a federation of eight agencies, has been helping people in need since 1912. In response to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission is to serve people in need, especially those who are poor and vulnerable; work to improve social conditions for all people in the community; and call members of the Church and community to do the same. On an annual basis, the Catholic Charities Federation assists over 136,000 people, through 100 programs at 50 sites, in 11 counties of the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The Development Assistant is a full-time entry level position that possesses knowledge of, or desire to learn, nonprofit development, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm to join a dynamic team. The position is an integral member of the development team and will offer critical support to achieve the aggressive fundraising goals of the organization.

Incumbent’s private and public positions and values must be in full and complete agreement with those of Catholic Charities and with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Responsibilities include:
• Event Coordination of agency events
• Support grant writing efforts
• Database management: data entry of all daily donations
• Coordinate Workplace Campaigns such as United Way and Annual Catholic Appeal
• Young Professionals Group: assist with the development of this group
• Assist with setting up committee meetings; taking minutes, etc.

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 1 year development experience
• Database knowledge; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
