Position Description: 

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services has a job opening for a part-time Human Resources Assistant. This position is located at 7601 Watson Rd, St. Louis, MO 63119. 1. Assists the Human Resources Director in the overall management of the Human Resources Department.
2. Assists the Human Resources Director in establishing and monitoring goals and objectives for the agency.
3. Keeps abreast of new developments in the area of governmental guidelines and regulations regarding employee relations.
4. Helps prepare budget requirements with projected expenditures and revenues.
5. Prepares purchase orders.
6. Assists Human Resources Director in administering personnel policies and procedures and ensuring that the Personnel Manual and Employee Handbook reflect current information. Explains personnel policies to staff.
7. Attends meetings as requested.
8. Assists Human Resources Director in managing the employment function, including manpower planning, development of recruiting sources, review of resumes and job applications, setting up interviews, coordinating interview schedule with respective departments, testing, preparing job offers sometimes in conjunction with the department manager, and conducts the new hire orientation program.
9. Assists Human Resources Director in ensuring job descriptions are accurate and up-to-date.
10. Assists in the preparation of job descriptions as needed.
11. Conducts and participates in salary surveys. Ensures wages are competitive within the relevant labor market.
12. Makes recommendations to the Human Resources Director regarding increases in salary structure based on market conditions.
13. Assist the Human Resource Director in managing the benefits/insurance, and compensation programs.
14. Serves as liaison with insurance carrier representative.
15. Identifies to Human Resources Director potential training and development opportunities necessary for continued growth and development of Human Resources personnel.
16. Assists in employee terminations as required, and ensures that all appropriate documentation is prepared.
17. Assists the Human Resources Director in developing and administering the performance management program, including performance appraisal procedures and forms.
18. Monitors the annual salary increase program that accompanies the performance appraisal process.
19. Ensures that personnel files contain relevant and appropriate material.
20. Maintains records of personnel activity including applicant flow, turnover, promotional activity, new hire activity, etc.
21. Ensures certifications/licenses remain current.
22. Sets up exit interviews and provides feedback to Human Resources Director.
23. Assists in developing and administering employee relations activities, including personnel recognition programs, special events, picnics, employee activities, etc.
24. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines as they relate to Human Resources.
25. Tracks and maintains data base for the Archdiocese Safe Environment Program.
26. Performs other duties as assigned.

One year experience in Human Resources, Business, or related field.

1. Must be computer literate.
2. Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate with individuals at all organizational levels.
3. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Must be able to function independently in performing responsibilities.
5. Must be able to perform the physical/mental functions/requirements of the position.
