Still, Paul the man and his theology remain shrouded in mystery. What are we to make of the significant differences between Paul as he describes himself in his own letters and as he is depicted in the Acts of the Apostles? How did the focus of Paul’s theology evolve, even within the collection of his own letters? Are there Jewish elements in Paul’s Christian theology? In this three-week series we will attempt to uncover – amidst all the confusing and even conflicting evidence – the “real” St. Paul.
