St. Joseph Parish (Cottleville)
Position Description: 

St. Joseph Parish in Cottleville has an opportunity for a Custodial person on the afternoon/evening shift during the School year and day shift in the summer. The Archdiocese of St Louis is a non-profit charitable organization and encompasses 11 counties in eastern Missouri, including the City of St. Louis. There are approximately 200 Parishes, plus 60 Offices and Agencies. St Joseph’s is the largest parish in the Archdiocese, with more than 5000 families and 15 Masses weekly.

This position will be responsible for cleaning in the School, or other areas of the campus. This person will keep all assigned areas clean, including the classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, restroom facilities, gym/cafeteria, etc. This person could be responsible set up and tear down of tables, chairs, equipment for events and whatever else may be needed for special events/meetings. Responsibilities could include light maintenance as well as other miscellaneous duties such as snow removal.
The ideal candidate should have some previous experience in custodial work. Be able to follow written and oral instructions. The person must be detail oriented and an independent worker. Some climbing and lifting is involved. This position requires being able to deal with a multitude of people including parish and school staff as well as volunteers. This employee must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and be a good steward of supplies, equipment, tools, furniture and any other property entrusted to his/her care.

Experience with custodial work and floor maintenance. General light maintenance experience is a plus. Must have knowledge of acceptable trade practices and building standards with the ability to prioritize and understand/follow directions along with working alone.
