Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

Position Description: 

St. Francis of Assisi Parish and School located in Saint Louis, Missouri has an opportunity for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. St. Francis of Assisi Parish and School seeks qualified candidates for the position of Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. The position oversees and is responsible for the effective, efficient, secure and safe maintenance, repair, renovation and upkeep of the parish buildings and grounds. The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations & Finance and will work with/supervise maintenance staff members, contractors and volunteers to ensure the parish facilities are functional, clean, secure and safe at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of plant operations of the facility including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, general maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance.
• Schedules, monitors, and assists in performing cyclical preventative maintenance programs
• Uses work order system for general maintenance repairs in and on school, church and rectory buildings
• Oversees and assists in performing the set-up and take-down for routine and special events
• Checks cleaning contractor’s work for compliance throughout the parish/school campus
• Maintains open channels of communication with parish and school staff
• Communicates, schedules, and accompanies all inspectors (fire, health, insurance, etc.) on their inspections and reports results
• Collaborates with Director of Operations & Finance in managing and prioritizing the facilities budget for routine operations as well as construction and renovation projects
• Works with Facilities & Maintenance Team and attends their monthly meetings
• Manages supply inventory and processes orders for all needed supplies
• Inspects all buildings daily and troubleshoots problem areas for corrective action
• Unlocks buildings, turns on lights and sets out traffic cones each morning
• Other duties per Pastor and/or Director of Operations & Finance

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
• Previous building and grounds maintenance work experience with basic knowledge in the areas of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, carpentry, maintenance equipment, security and safety
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills
• Able to use ladders, hand tools and small power equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Take or have taken Protecting God’s Children training
• Practicing Catholic preferred
