Infant Adoption Coordinator

Position Description: 

Good Shephard Children & Family Services located in Saint Louis, Missouri has an opportunity for a full-time Infant Adoption Coordinator. The Infant Adoption Coordinator is responsible for directing all Infant Adoption services assuring that services are delivered in compliance with applicable federal and state laws as well as licensure and accreditation standards. This position also includes the provision of direct service to Adoptive Families. The position requires a passion and dedication for growing families through infant adoption with a focus on expanding infant adoption opportunities at Good Shepherd.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Expertise in all facets of infant adoption
• Thorough understanding of adoption law and current practice in Missouri.
• Vision for expanding infant adoption services with the proven ability to develop and implement a plan to do so.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong direct practice skills with an ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team including agency staff and community partners and referral sources.
• Flexible and the ability to adjust a work schedule around the needs of clients.
• Creative, well organized and the ability to work independently.

This position provides all services in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. A commitment to the sanctity of human life is a requirement of this position.

This full-time position requires travel to and from clients home; a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s license is required.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work
• 5 years’ experience in Infant Adoption practice
• 3 years’ experience in program management
• LCSW preferred.
