Immaculate Conception Parish
Position Description: 

Immaculate Conception Parish of the Archdiocese of St. Louis is located in O’Fallon, Missouri is a large and vibrant parish with over 4,500 families. We are in search of a Pastoral Associate to participate in the pastoral care of our large and active parish community. This position is directly responsible to the Pastor and is involved in all aspects of parish life. The Pastoral Associate must provide leadership and administrative duties, coordinate others in ministry as well as provide direct ministry. Approximately 32 hours a week. Salary based on background and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Be an active, committed, faith filled Roman Catholic
• Possess a solid understanding of the Catholic Faith as well as adhere to all the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Work creatively and cooperatively towards the formation of a lively, faith filled worshiping parish
• Be very flexible in work hours from week to week as the demands of the position vary regularly

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
• Possess strong leadership skills and a cooperative spirit with the ability to relate to a wide spectrum of people
• Collaborate closely with the pastor under his supervision and with members of the parish staff
• Able to make decisions and assume responsibilities for designated tasks
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Participate in professional development and continuing educations programs
• Be proficient in computer skills including Word Excel, and PowerPoint, calendar management and organizational skills

Pastoral Associate will meet with families to make funeral arrangements for loved ones, collaborate with funeral directors and parish clergy to schedule funeral masses, burial services and funeral luncheons and provide follow up with families as needed. Pastoral Associates will also visit the sick and homebound, help at Masses at Caregivers Inn and Delmar Gardens Skilled Care. Other important components include registration of new families and making arrangements for baptisms. Many opportunities to collaborate with a variety of staff for seasonal and other special events and projects.
