Young Friends for Life

Young Friends for Life is a new prolife group recently formed by the Archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate. Its mission is to promote the dignity of human life to and through the community of Catholic young adults in St. Louis.

The target audience of Young Friends for Life is young adults who are post-college and “pre-PTA,” in other words, adults between the ages of 22 and 35 or so, who do not remember the landmark Supreme Court decisions of 1973 firsthand, but who live in a society that is suffering the consequences.

The RLA established the group because of the need for young, prolife adults to have a concrete outlet to promote the Culture of Life that is both attractive and feasible, given their age and their often-hectic schedules.

Young Friends for Life meets quarterly and intends to host one or two high-energy, low-time commitment events a year to raise awareness about timely issues and raise money to fund other prolife activities in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

YFFL believes that Catholic young adults in St. Louis are an untapped resource that have the ability to broadcast the prolife message of respect for human dignity to their peers in a creative, interactive, web-savvy way. YFFL hopes to facilitate these efforts by developing a network of prolife young adults and business people, providing educational opportunities, raising funds to support the work of the RLA, and participating actively in the public square.
