 Help for Today - Hope for Tomorrow Kindergarten through 4th Grade Program
Introduced for the 2008-2009 school year, this program originally offered 600, $2,000 needs based tuition assistance scholarships to city of St. Louis residents desiring to have their K-4th grade aged children attend a parochial or private school in the city of St. Louis.  During the 2009-10 school year, this program was expanded to include 220 more children, anadditional 271 students were added for the 2010-11 school year, and we are currently accepting applications for the 2011-12 school year.  There are currently 850 students in this program. Thirty-five parochial and private schools are participating in the program.

  • 271 scholarships were awarded for the 2010-2011 school year.
  • 220 scholarships were awarded for the 2009-2010 school year.
  • 613 scholarships were awarded for the 2008-2009 school year.

Help for Today – Hope for Tomorrow Kindergarten Program
Introduced for the 2007-08 school year, this program offered 100, $2,000 scholarships to city of St. Louis residents desiring a Catholic school education for their kindergarten age student. Students attend Catholic elementary schools in the city of St. Louis.

Compelling Facts

76 scholarships were awarded initially and 41 fourth graders are currently enrolled in school through this program for the 2011-12 school year.

  • The scholarship will follow the student through 8th grade graduation assuming continued eligibility.
  • The students will reap the benefits of a quality, Catholic school education from the beginning of their school experience increasing their chance for academic success significantly.
  • Families contribute monetarily in every situation.

Grants to Catholic Schools
The Grants to Catholic Schools program provides financial assistance to students who attend Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The support provided by this program enables families to continue providing a quality, Catholic education for their children.

  • 94% of high school graduates entered college after graduation.
  • 89% of all students in Catholic schools score above the 50th percentile on total battery scores.
  • The daily attendance rate in Catholic schools exceeds 97 percent.
  • The Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation grants more than $325,000 each year to Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for general scholarships.
  • Approximately 700 children are given partial scholarships. Families contribute monetarily in every situation.
  • When parents sacrifice to pay part of the cost, education becomes a priority.

St. Louis School Choice Scholarship Fund
The St. Louis School Choice Scholarship Fund was created to give economically disadvantaged children in the City of St. Louis a choice regarding their educational opportunities.

  • St. Louis School Choice provides partial tuition scholarships that help city families send their kindergarten through eighth grade children to the private, independent or parochial schools of their choice.
  • 2 children currently receive tuition support through this special educational opportunity.
  • The average scholarship is $1,400 per year.
