Focus 11

A Vocation Awareness Event designed to strengthen Catholic Identity and help foster personal awareness of God's plan for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Studies indicate that most priests, consecrated and religious persons first thought about their vocation in the 6th grade. Focus 11 is a one day retreat that begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m.  Although the same retreat, Focus 11 for 2018 will be offered Tuesday February 6th, Wednesday February 7th and Thursday February 8th. This event will take place at the Skip Viragh Center for Visual Arts on the campus of Chaminade Prep. College.  Please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m.  We will begin promptly at  9 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.

Focus 11 Highlights include
:

  • Mass for Vocations
  • Praise and Worship Music with the Adam Bitter
  • Opportunities to visit with priest, seminarians and religious 
  • Activities and talks encouraging students to consider their unique call to holiness
  • Adoration  and quiet time to consider a possible vocation to the priesthood or religious life

SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Student participation/permission slips
  • Transportation via bus or cars 
  • A tub or box for lunch sacks and/or boxes.  Please clearly mark tubs with school name. Tubs will be placed in a secure area inside the center so students do not have to carry their lunches. 
  • Name tag for each student and adult helper.  Please include school name on each tag.
  • We ask that all student dress in uniform according to school policy.
  • At least one chaperone must remain with students at all times. 
  • Cars and mini vans are to park on campus in Weber Lot behind the Skip Viragh Center.
  • If space permits, buses will be allowed to park in Weber Lot behind the Skip Viragh Center.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Focus 11 is a one day vocation retreat that offers an opportunity for each student to reflect on a personal call to holiness and to consider a possible vocational call to the priesthood or consecrated life.
