Commission for Sacred Liturgy
Mission Statement
We, the members of the St. Louis Archdiocesan Commission for Sacred Liturgy are blessed by God with faith and talents that find inspiration, expression and fulfillment in the liturgical life of the Church. We are entrusted by the Archbishop, in collaboration with the Office of Sacred Worship, to promote liturgical renewal as mandated by the Second Vatican Council (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 45-46).
We are called to focus our energies on the continuing liturgical education and formation of lay ministers, parish communities and our own members.
We welcome the diverse gifts of the Spirit. We foster and nourish multicultural expressions in the celebration of our common faith.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we seek to inspire prayerful liturgy as “the summit toward which all activity is directed…and the fount from which all power flows” (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 10).
