Planning a Special Mass
The Office of Sacred Worship oversees the special Masses held throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis, especially those involving the Archbishop, Bishops, and Vicar General. We hope the information below will assist you in the planning of your special Mass.
Steps to Planning a Mass
1. Contact the Archbishop or Bishops office to complete the necessary forms to schedule them as your celebrant.
2. Reserve the necessary space
3. Fill out a Planning Guide to be submitted to the Office of Sacred Worship for approval
4. Determine if a program is needed and if so, contact the Office of Sacred Worship at least one month prior to the event and we can help you create and print a program.
Necessary Forms to Fill out
Planning Guide for Masses at the St. Vincent De Paul Chapel in the Cardinal Rigali Center: - Liturgy Planning Sheet for Masses at the Cardinal Rigali Center.pdf
Planning Guide for Masses in the Archdiocese of St. Louis not at the Cardinal Rigali Center: - Liturgy Planning Sheet General.pdf
Note: These forms are to be competely fillede out and returned to the Office of Sacred Worship for approval. However, other offices involved may have more forms to be completed, i.e. the Archbishop's Office has their own Mass form to be completed for their use. Both forms would need to be filled out, so please make sure you speak with every agency and office involved to be sure all necessary forms are completed.
Note: You must reserve the St. Vincent De Paul Chapel in the Cardinal Rigali Center. Filling out the planning guide alone does not reserve the chapel for you.
