What We Do

The Office of Peace & Justice:

  • provides spiritual and moral formation on social justice concerns.
  • organizes public advocacy and action in accordance with Catholic teaching on issues such as the death penalty, immigration, poverty and gun violence.
  • supports the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services in our local area.
  • provides staff support and resources to vicariate and parish social action efforts.
  • collaborates with interfaith and community organizations on social justice concerns.

The Office of Peace & Justice attempts to be engaged in as many justice and peace issues as possible but there are some topics that require a more consistent and focused approach. To this end, there are commissions, committees and task forces that have been organized to better educate, mobilize and engage parishioners and other people of good will around critical issues.

  • Peace & Justice Commission
  • Immigration Task Force
  • Catholic Campaign for Human Development
  • Gun Violence Prevention Task Force
  • Catholic Relief Services
  • Prison Ministry Committee
