New executive director/CEO at St. Patrick Center

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis has announced that Chris Stephen has been named the new executive director/CEO of St. Patrick Center. A former vice president of the St. Patrick Center board of directors, Stephen assumed his new role on June 3. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and background in executive positions at Emerson, including vice president roles in digital human resources, IT strategy, architecture and research, digital engagement and the program management office.

New president at Duchesne High

Paul Boschert has been named president of Duchesne High School. Boschert, who currently serves as director of athletics, was elected by Duchesne’s board of directors. He has served in education for 43 years, with 23 as an athletics administrator. His career goes back to 1981 when he returned to Duchesne High School after graduating from Lindenwood University. After teaching speech for four years and coaching three sports at Duchesne, Boschert spent more than a decade teaching physical education in the St. Charles School District. He also was director of athletics and activities at St. Charles West High School and Fort Zumwalt West High School. He then returned to Duchesne High School as athletics director in 2020.

Monthly Pro-Life Mass

The monthly Pro-life Mass and Rosary hosted by the archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate (formerly the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Mass and Rosary) will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Norbert Parish, 16455 New Halls Ferry Road in Florissant. The Rosary will be prayed before Mass. Prayers will be offered on behalf of women and men facing unplanned pregnancies and for a greater respect for all human life, especially the unborn child. The monthly Mass will be celebrated at different churches around the archdiocese.

Forgive Us Our Trespasses/Maafa Procession

The Archdiocese of St. Louis will host the third annual Forgive Us Our Trespasses Prayer Service and Maafa Procession in Downtown St. Louis to commemorate the approximately 2 million lives lost during the Middle Passage of the Atlantic slave trade. The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (Old Cathedral), 209 Walnut St., with a prayer service and continues with a remembering ceremony at the south pond of the Arch grounds, followed by a one-mile procession to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church. A meal will be shared there. Participants are asked to wear white. A shuttle service will be provided between St. John and the Old Cathedral. Children’s Storytime

Join the Daughters of St. Paul for a Children’s Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 and 25, at Pauline Books & Media, 9804 Watson Road in Crestwood. On June 18, Sister Laura Rhoderica will read “The Book that Changed Everything,” written by Sister Alison Regina Gilot; on June 25, Sister Amanda will read “Our Lady of Guadalupe and Her Dear Juanito,” written by Sister Marlene Evangelina Monge.
