Dcn. LeforsA funeral Mass for Deacon Ronald LeFors was to be celebrated Jan. 13 at St. Angela Merici Church in Florissant. Deacon Lefors died Dec. 13 in Texarkana, Texas. He was 76.
Deacon LeFors was ordained on June 7, 2003, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis by then-Archbishop Justin F. Rigali. He was assigned to and assisted the pastor at the former Sts. John & James Parish in Ferguson from 2003-05. He then served at St. Angela Merici Parish in Florissant until 2015. He served his parishes by presiding at baptisms, funeral and Communion services and weddings, as well as hospital, nursing home and homebound Communion ministry. In 2015, Deacon LeFors moved to Texarkana, Texas, to pursue his career as a professional orthotist and prosthetist. He assisted the pastor of Sacred Heart Parish and worked in prison ministry in Texarkana until his retirement from active ministry in January 2023.
Deacon LeFors is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia LeFors (nee Spencer), seven sons and 14 grandchildren. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Independence, Missouri, and received an Associates in Arts degree from Cerritos College in Norwalk, California, specializing in prosthetics, orthotics and pedorthics. He spent his working career as a professional in these fields.
