OBITUARY | Deacon William Priesmeyer

A funeral Mass for Deacon William F. Priesmeyer Jr. was celebrated Dec. 20 at St. Joseph Church in Lebanon, Indiana. Deacon Priesmeyer died Dec. 18. He was 88.

Deacon Priesmeyer was ordained on June 15, 1996, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis by then-Archbishop Justin F. Rigali. He was assigned to and assisted the pastor at the former St. Gregory and Holy Trinity Parish in St. Ann. He served his parish by presiding at baptisms, funeral and Communion services and weddings, as well as hospital, nursing home and homebound Communion ministry. In 2019, Deacon Priesmeyer retired from active ministry and moved to Whitestown, Indiana.

Deacon Priesmeyer was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Priesmeyer (nee Vitale). He is survived by three children, Bill (Debbie) Priesmeyer, Judy (Jim) Moloy and Geralyn (Mike) Humphrey, and many grandchildren. He was a graduate of McBride High School in St. Louis and Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy in Rolla. He spent his working career in the metallurgic engineering field.
