The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer that focuses on the lives of Christ and Mary through meditation on the different mysteries. The repetition of prayers in the Rosary are meant to lead a person into restful and contemplative prayer related to each mystery.
The five Glorious Mysteries are traditionally prayed on Wednesdays and, outside the seasons of Advent and Lent, on Sundays:
The Resurrection
“But at daybreak on the first day of the week they took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.They found the stone rolled away from the tomb; but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were puzzling over this, behold, two men in dazzling garments appeared to them. They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.” — Acts 2:1-4
