Rural Parish Clinic

In 2018, the Annual Catholic Appeal is supporting a new mission...the Rural Parish Clinic of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

In 2017, Archbishop Carlson invited Sr. Marie Paul Lockerd, RSM, DO, to come to our archdiocese to help start this clinic. Sr. Marie Paul tells her story below...

Archbishop Carlson has had a vision to serve the rural poor of the Archdiocese of St. Louis for many years, and I am delighted to participate. The clinic's goal is to serve persons who are working but cannot afford health care.
I firmly believe that God's divine providence has been preparing me for this mission. I served for 20 years as a Family Practice physician, running a rural clinic in Jackson, Minnesota. My experience there has made me ready –providing care in my own primary care practice, hospitals, nursing homes, and even an emergency room at a critical access hospital. I also have a passion for working with women and married couples providing health care aligned with Catholic values as a Napro Technology medical consultant and Fertility Care teacher.
Evangelization is central to our mission. The clinic presents an opportunity for me to live out my life of dedication to Christ. I hope that others will see Jesus through me, and I pray that the mission of the Rural Parish Clinic will bring the healing of Christ, both physical and spiritual, to those in need. Please pray for this mission, and join me by supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal.

Sr. Marie Paul is passionate about the clinic because she knows it will bring the love and mercy of Christ to people who need Him. Everything the Annual Catholic Appeal supports has the same goal, bringing Christ to others, building the Church, and helping people get to Heaven.

Together, we can help tell this incredible story. Please consider making a gift to the ACA at your parish in the coming weeks. You can also give to the ACA online. Thank you in advance for your prayers and for your generous response to the 2018 Annual Catholic Appeal.
