St Lawrence O'Toole was established in 1855 as an Irish national parish. Located at 14th and O’Fallon, a 2nd church was built in 1861. Its school (1871-1947) was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The parish was closed in 1948 and the church demolished.
