On April 21, 2009, it was announced that the Most Rev. Robert J. Carlson was appointed by the Holy See as the successor to Archbishop Raymond L. Burke as the Archbishop of Saint Louis, Missouri. Dr. David Mueckl serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, assisting the Archbishop, the Vicars General, and the Chancellor with the daily operations of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Read more...

The Chancellor is the chief notary of the Archdiocese, notarizing all official Archdiocesan decrees and documentation. The Chancellor's responsibilities also include gathering, safeguarding and archiving many of the written and/or recorded activities of the Archdiocese. Monsignor Pins offers his guidance to reporters and editors covering issues of importance to the 75,000 readers of the St. Louis Review, the Archdiocese's weekly newspaper. Monsignor Pins also serves as rector and administrator at the landmark Cathedral Basilica, commonly known as the New Cathedral, where the Archbishop celebrates Mass. Read more...

Monsignor Shamleffer serves as the Judicial Vicar for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. He represents the Archbishop in Church legal affairs, and coordinates the activities of the Office of the Metropolitan Tribunal. His office responsibilities include Church property, personnel and parish issues, annulments, the writing of decrees and Church bi-laws, and matters pertaining to the proper ordering of Church life. Deacon Chauvin has served as Chief Financial Officer for the Archdiocese of St. Louis since 1998. He is responsible for all financial matters for the Archdiocese, including public reporting of financial information. Vicars Forane, or Deans, are priests who assist the Archbishop in the administration of the Archdiocese. Each Dean is responsible for a given Deanery, or Vicariate Forane, which is a geographical subdivision of the Archdiocese, and which comprises the parishes located within that area.
