Trinity Director Of Alumni and Special Projects - The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students along the continuum of relationship. Serving as an ambassador, the Director of Alumni Relations is charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in the administrative offices (including, but not limited to Enrollment, Development and Communications) and the schools to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the Institute; partnering with Development colleagues to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving; and serving as a liaison between the Alumni Association Board of Directors and the academic and administrative leadership. The Director of Alumni Relations is a member of the TTF team and reports to the TTF Executive Director. The alumni community currently numbers approximately 3 legacy schools and the current Trinity alumni base. This total exceeds 20,000 contacts. The goal of the alumni director is to help connect the rich legacy school communities with the current Trinity community. In a sense, it is to steward four communities, drawing them together when helpful and working to support the vision of Trinity today to connect all people’s to God. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Create an alumni association board, arranging its meetings, staffing its committees and ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members and the academic and administrative leadership; serve as ex officio Executive Director of the Alumni Association. Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the strategic plan as well as the goals of the Office of Advancement. Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, etc. Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications. You are the manager of relationships to all former students of the Trinity legacy tree. Organize the yearly Trinity Day Of Praise where alumni from all legacy schools are showcased in an all day encounter. Part of the shoulder strategy campaign. Creation of Hall of Fame as a strategy to unite the history of Trinity to the vision for our future. Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs. Partner with Director of Enrollment to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in the admissions process; partner with the College Admissions Counselor to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking services for students and alumni. Collaborate closely with development colleagues in increasing support from alumni; routinely identify and qualify alumni prospects for gifts; communicate development-related activities via written contact reports filed in Salesforce and periodic attendance at prospect management meetings. Maintain a portfolio of prospects, working to raise $500,000 a year. Oversee and balance the budget for Alumni Relations; within the annual program budget, manage existing and/or additional alumni programs, services and communications. Raise funds for select special projects and events in collaboration with Development colleagues. Create a team of current Trinity ambassadors to meet with alumni. OTHER SKILLS: A minimum of four years of experience in alumni relations and external affairs with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the Institute, alumni, other constituents and the public. The demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers. Demonstrably strong writing, planning, and organizational skills. Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals.
