Position Description: 

Queen of Peace Center has an opportunity for a PRN Registered Nurse. Queen of Peace Center is a family-centered behavioral healthcare provider for women with addiction, their children and families. The gender focused female recovery center provides a variety of treatment options to women with co-occurring disorders and those affected by trauma.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Medically assess consumers upon/prior to admission into Queen of Peace Center for appropriateness of services provided
• Administers routine injections, measures blood pressures, blood glucose levels, and other tests related to the monitoring of chronic disease
• Administers medication to consumers
• Educates clients regarding their medications, possible side effects, nutrition, and general health promotion issues
• Provides basic first aid and assessment/intervention in medical emergency situations
• Assess withdrawal symptoms and accurately report to physician
• Coordinate medical appointments with staff psychiatrist and primary care physician.
• Accurately document client medication administration, including injections
• Provide billable services (5 hours per day)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience & Requirements:
• Registered Nurse required; OB experience strongly preferred
• Experience or background in substance abuse treatment preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building abilities

• Understanding of health services for individuals with behavioral health disorders and chronic diseases
• Team-focused; willingness to work cross-discipline to create and implement successful clinical treatment and day-to-day planning
• Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
• High levels of initiative
• Ability to multi-task; resourceful
• Creative, innovative and responsive
