Advent Day of Recollection with Archbishop Carlson

Saturday, December 2, 2017 - 10:00am - 5:00pm

Advent Day of Recollection

The earth rejoices in hope of the Savior's coming and looks forward with longing to his return at the end of time.    Reflect on the season of Advent and prepare for the God who waits for you. Parishioners, their guests, and all throughout the Archdiocese are invited to join Archbishop Robert Carlson in this special day of reflection and recollection.

Schedule of Events:

10:00 AM - First Conference Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will follow the first conference. There will also be an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

11:45 AM ‐ Rosary 12:00 PM – Lunch in Boland Hall

1:30 PM ‐ Second Conference Following the second conference, "Advent Stations: Office of the Ancestors of Christ" will be prayed. These seven Advent "stations" or "stopping points" provide a way to ponder the mystery of how God prepared to receive His Son at the moment of the Annunciation.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered until 4:45 PM.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will continue on the Main Altar until moved to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for Adoration beginning at 3:30 PM.

4:30 PM ‐ Evening Prayer and Solemn Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

5:00 PM ‐ Celebration of the vigil Mass for the First Sunday of Advent.

This special gathering is free to all! Good will offerings will be gratefully accepted to offset the cost of lunch.

And though a free event, advance registration is requested to help us prepare worship materials and set up for lunch.   To register or for additional information, please contact Mary Ann Fox at 314‐373‐8208 or email
