Position Description: 

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for a full-time Legal Assistant. This position is part of the General Counsel located at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO. Position Summary:
The Legal Assistant will perform a variety of clerical, administrative and paralegal functions. The candidate should have good communication skills, be highly organized and exhibit a pleasant, positive attitude toward assisting in the day to day operations of the Office of General Counsel. Above all, the candidate must perform the duties of Legal Assistant with the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity and decorum in furtherance of the mission of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the Roman Catholic Church. Accordingly, the candidate should exhibit good judgement, strong ethics, morals and interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Dictation of correspondence for General Counsel
• Answer office of General Counsel main phone line
• Assist in filing Annual Corporate Business Registrations with Missouri Secretary of State
• Provide overall administrative support for Office of General Counsel activities Maintain the Risk Management website
• Assist in obtaining necessary data pertaining to the annual renewal of insurance coverage
• Become familiar with the Gallagher Basset Service claim management information system known as Risx-Facs
• Assist Parish, School and Agency personnel on reporting claims to Gallagher Bassett
• Maintain insured vehicle and property database
• Assist in coordinating the annual distribution of insurance assessment information to Parishes, Schools and Agencies
• Assist Parish, School and Agency with insurance and claim inquiries
• Provide overall administrative support for Risk Management Activities

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
• Practicing Catholic
• Associates degree in Legal Studies preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet research skills
• Familiarity with computer based Document Management systems a plus
• Dictation and transcription skills a plus

Skills and Attitudes required for Success in Job:
• Willingness to perform duties with a cheerful, positive attitude
• Minimum of two years working as a Legal Assistant or other Administrative role preferred.
• Experience with calendar management and scheduling meetings
• Ability to perform duties on multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
