Position Description: 

St. Peter Parish Early Learning Center located in Saint Charles, Missouri has an opportunity for a part-time Cafeteria Coordinator.

This position, located at the St Peter Parish Early Learning Center (ELC), on the grounds of St Peter Parish in St Charles, will oversee the operation of cafeteria for Early Learning Center. Responsible for menu development, purchasing, and adhering to budgets. Responsible for food preparation and production according to established dietary requirements of quality, quantity, nutrition, appearance and temperature. Prepares meals and delivers to classrooms as required, or serves in cafeteria. Requires knowledge of proper food preparation and storage procedures and cooking experience in cafeteria or commercial kitchens.

This is a part time position that reports to the ELC Director. It is a year round position.
Hours are 8am – 2:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create nutrient dense snacks and meals that include vegetables, fruit, proteins, dairy, and starches
• Prepare afternoon snacks and deliver to ELC
• Cook lunch and help serve in cafeteria
• Create weekly menus that include lunch, and an afternoon snack
• Post menu weekly on ELC Site
• Work with ELC director on menu diversity and nutritional content
• Comfortable with introducing diverse foods into the menu
• Familiar with toddler and preschool serving sizes for snacks and meals
• Familiar with family style meal setting in a preschool center
• Work with classroom teachers on cooking lessons or activities that involve the children
• Clears and cleans all tables and chairs after each meal, stack and unstack chairs
• Cleans kitchen, cooking utensils, stove, etc. after each day
• Wash and sanitize all dishes including those from breakfast, snacks, and lunches
• Budget all incoming food costs to meet parish budget
• Order foods from the appropriate distributors such as Sysco
• Understand and implement the government milk program for rebates
• Maintain health code standards in kitchen.
